All
beds are sold as is. Our prices can range from $400.00 for a simple Unrestored headboard
to $5500 and up for Restored beds depending on rarity. We have attempted to provide detailed photographs and as accurate a
description of each item as possible. We will be glad to answer any additional questions
about an item by e-mail. We want you to be happy with your purchase and will make every
effort to get you're the best information possible.
Restored models have been brought up to nearly new including complete parts and new
finishes. Restored models may still have dents or other character marks of their history but
are considered structurally and aesthetically sound, and will be able to be immediately
set up and enjoyed.
On Unrestored models, rust, patina, dirt, bends and dents are included, missing parts
are not (see alterations below). Please be aware that buying an unrestored bed indicates
the bed may not have all of its decorative parts and the finish may vary from excellent
to dismal. But this of course rests on your idea of beauty! The exciting part of this
system is that there are many fabulous beds needing only your TLC to turn them into gems.
Many do it yourself folks love the challenge and are inspired by using their creativity.
We take care to price those beds with these considerations in mind. You should likewise
buy unrestored beds with this in mind. As always, buying a fully restored or new iron bed
will involve less work and allow you to enjoy the immediate satisfaction of an authentic
iron bed. See authentic
New Iron Beds.
All of our complete beds come with a set of side rails unless otherwise stated.
Restored beds have nice side rails. On unrestored beds, some beds may have rails that
are a perfect fit, some may not. We always try to put together the best combinations
we are able.
Headboards will not have tabs welded on for frame attachment unless clearly stated otherwise. (see below)
Restorations/Alterations
Any alterations, restoration, added elements (spindles, balls, tubes etc.)
color or size changes can be discussed on a case by case basis and will include additional charges
for labor and materials. On some beds it is possible to transform a full or ¾" into a queen or king
size depending on the design. We can also turn two twins beds into a King size bed depending on
the particular design. We also have the ability to do less elaborate repairs such as replacing
missing parts, finials, bent tubing or casters. There are many options and all beds can be fully
restored. This process may involve a lengthy time frame and will involve higher costs. Please feel free
to contact us with any questions, ideas or inquiries and we will do our best to get you the information
you need to make an informed choice.
Shipping
Beds will be shipped directly to your house. The cost of shipping will begiven to you by our
quick quote response. Beds can only be delivered curbside. Delivery drivers will not bring the
bed into your house or up any stairs. You will be responsible for carrying the bed into your house,
for all unpacking, disposal of packaging materials and the beds set up. We suggest you have another
person help with carrying the bed when it arrives as many iron beds are quite heavy. White glove delivery
service (including setup in the home) may be possible on restored models, depending on location, for an
additional charge.
